You need a 4 year undergraduate degree, a 3 year law degree and then you have to pass the bar exam. You’ll also need to take the LSAT test in order to gain admission to law school.
Your undergraduate degree need not cost a lot (you could go to a state school for less than $5k a year), but your graduate law program will very likely be expensive. It’s not uncommon to pay $25,000+ a year in tuition. On top of that, in my state (NY), first year law students aren’t allowed to work.
Some states will allow you to take the bar exam without actually going to law school, but this is very rare and you’re often still required to have a certain amount of legal work experience.

4 yrs college plus 3 yrs law school. Immigration is a good field. Do you spk Spanish or Chinses? It might help you. I dunno what the current cost is. Sorry.
If you want to discuss further, I ‘ll be glad to help
4 years of college. 3 years of law school. Costs vary among universities. I am sure the University of Texas would have a law school. Consider the University of Pittsburgh. You would receive a JD degree
